Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Trivia Question- no wiki looking or program using software- etc- okay now- which grateful dead only studio album (exclude ace and garcia) - Which studio album has a sogn listing that adds up to the most number of cumulative performances?

For instance, if anthem had 300 shows with TOO and 100 shows where they played caboose 40 times, Gator 50 times, born cross eyed a dozen times and caution 40 times- then Anthem produced 530 individual song performaces

so which album is it? Name second and third most also as three albums are far ahead of the rest.

Terrapin's going to be pretty high up there with Estimated, Dancin', Samson, and Terrapin.

I'm going to say that the top 2 are Workingman's Dead and American Beauty, just not sure on the order.

Interesting: I'll go out on a limb and swag a guess here.

1. Shakedown - The numbers for Minglewood & Good Lovin have got to be huge, plus Fire as a long term staple.

2. Wake of the Flood - Eyes and Stella

3. Go To Heaven - Don't Ease, Sailor, Saint, Althea, Alabama

What a grate question! Just thinking out loud, the champion tunes would be:

Aoxomoxoa: St Stephen, China Cat
Workingman's: UJB, Cumberland, Casey Jones
American Beauty: FotD, Sugar Mag, Truckin
Wake of the Flood: Mississippi 1/2 Step, Row Jimmy, Stella Blue, Eyes of the World, Let it Grow
Mars Hotel: US Blues, Scarlet Begonias
Blues for Allah: Music Never Stopped, Crazy Fingers
Terrapin: Estimated Prophet, Samson & Delilah, Dancin' in the Streets, Terrapin
Shakedown: Good Lovin, Fire on the Mountain, I Need a Miracle, Minglewood

I'm handicapped in guessing because I really don't know the 80s and 90s, but I'm going to take a stab at Wake of the Flood over American Beauty and Workingman's.

And I'll be thanking you in advance for all of the work you have done in assembling the answer. A question concerning the answer: do you count the original version of Dancin' from before Terrapin and the original Minglewood and Good Lovin from before Shakedown?
